Going from senior dev to tech lead in six months

The hardest unlearning was that my output is no longer measured in pull requests. It's measured in how unblocked everyone else is.

I spend more time writing things down (decisions, conventions, the why behind a pattern) so the same question doesn't cost the team three Slack threads.

And I review for direction more than for nitpicks. A consistent codebase that everyone understands beats a perfect one that only I can maintain.
